My "Cozy-Home" Potpourri Recipe

Use: A Medium-to-large size Pan
Fill: 3/4's with Water
Add: Any combinations of the following(Cut-up or Peelings of):
Apple,Orange,Tangerine,Fresh Ginger,Peach,Lemon,Lime
And: Stick or Powdered or Whole(any or all):
Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Allspice, Cloves
And: 2 tablespoons of Vanilla and/or Almond extract
Stir All together and simmer on low on top of stove all day~
*You can use a Crockpot instead,too*

Kitchen Witches Blessing

"In this pot, I stir to the sun
an' follow the rule of harming none.
Banishment of bane when goin' widdershins;
an' with water and salt negativity is cleansed.
Household duties are more than chores.
Magick abounds when mopping floors.
With this broom, I do sweep
to clean my house and safely keep.
Marigold, Basil, Thyme, and Yarrow
my spell is cast for a better tomorrow.
Lemons for joy and apples for health

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant, they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.

Use Bay laurel (laurus nobilis)

as a preventative against colds and flu.
Suggested use is once per week.

It is gentle but strengthening.
Rubbing a few drops on swollen lymph

nodes will produce an immediate
effect. Dilute in a carrier oil before use.

Herbal and Flower Essential oil

Recipe For Homes

1 teaspoon geranium essential oil
1 teaspoon bergamot essential oil
1 teaspoon lavender essential oil
1 teaspoon lemon essential oil
50 drops cinnamon essential oil
20 drops clove essential oil
Use this blend to create a happy, restful atmosphere

in the living room and dining room. The aroma will give a cheerful welcome to family and friends - but not any bacteria and viruses they may be carrying!

Some Herb Lore

Although the traditional use of herbal medicine dates back to 3000 B.C., by the Middle Ages, healers were developing new purposes for herbal concoctions, such as bestowing magical powers. A recipe from the 1600s, for example, describes how olive oil, rose water, marigolds, and a few other ingredients could be blended together and put aside to steep in the sun for a few days. Afterwards, a few sips of the herbal essence meant a glimpse into the "world of the fairies."
